BIOGRAPHY

Vladimir Srimsek
was born in 1927 in Kotoriba. He attended elementary school and high school
in Krizevci. He graduated art history on The Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana.
He paints intensively during his schooling, and sells his paintings to get
money for the faculty.
After graduation
he worked as a professor in high school in Krizevci, and after that as a director
of The National University and a long-standing head of the Town Museum in
Krizevci, where he stayed until his retirement in 1990. He is one of the founders
of The Art Atelier and The Art Gallery of the Town Museum in Krizevci.
He exhibited his work in seven autonomous and a dozen collective exhibitions.
He participated in several humanitarian exhibitions. Today his paintings are
in numerous private collections all over the world and in several museums
in Croatia. He was also very successful in graphic design.
In most cases he paints in oil, pastels and water-colour, in the spirit of
realistic expression and with an emphasis on the impressionistic approach.
Vladimir Srimsek died in 2005.
